Carl Smith – The Cry of the Hangman
Death in Cornwall is quirky, comforting and incredibly meta. DCI Arthur St. Just is going on holiday to get away from crime and murder, but you know the proverbial is going to hit the fan. That is teased mercilessly. We laugh along at Arthur’s luck as he cannot escape. If a small-town mystery with this kind of humour is your thing, you’ll get a kick out of this novel.
