A murder. A swindle. And some very eccentric suspects.

Inspector Angel and his team are sent to investigate the death of a young woman in a car wreck. Her vehicle ploughed into a tree. She is found in the foetal position twenty yards from the crash. An empty whisky bottle is discovered nearby.

Inquiries indicate that she’d uncovered a high-profile swindle and her isolated cottage had been ransacked.

Meanwhile, Angel reluctantly gets involved with a recently married middle-aged couple who have bought a house haunted by the ghost of an alcoholic dentist and his family who died tragically in 1760.

The investigations become more mystifying and dangerous, as Angel races to find the explanation and stop more mayhem and murder.
