Cassie Marlow was born with an ambitious mind and a courageous spirit. It’s always been her dream to attend Cambridge University. She’s going to be a somebody one day. Then tragedy strikes. Her dreams are destroyed and she’s left all alone. Cassie is forced to find her own way in the modern world of the roaring twenties. She finds herself enrolled at the Gathercole Academy in Liverpool, where the art of shorthand and typing are her only friends.
